WHY TOOTHPASTE TABS?

All our lives we've known toothpaste in plastic tubes. We don't know anything else. Tubes are an invention from the 19th century, but they’ve become a real problem now. Each year, over 1.5 billion of them end up in landfills and our oceans, where they barely decompose. The rest of the 20 billion get burned, causing harmful CO2 to be released every year, again and again. This is not acceptable and we want to change that.

Can toothpaste tubes be recycled?

Due to the various layers of plastic in a tube, sometimes also around a thin layer of aluminum, this is technically and economically (almost) impossible. The toothpaste industry does plan to gradually switch to recyclable tubes in the coming years. However, this does not solve the CO2 emissions from the production of plastic and the 1.5 billion tubes that are lost in our environment. Moreover, recyclable plastic is often burned rather than recycled, especially when oil prices are so low that it is cheaper to make new ones.

IS THERE ENOUGH FOAM?

First of all, foam is a marketing gimmick and does nothing for oral care. Preferences for foam levels vary across different countries. However, after years of research, optimization, and collaboration with our community, we’ve developed tabs that foam excellently. We’ve discovered a natural alternative to the chemical foaming agent (SLS) by using a natural coconut extract.

I brush electric, is that also possible

Absolutely. Just chew the tablet in your mouth and start brushing!

HOME DELIVERY IS NOT SUSTAINABLE, IS IT?

We deliver by mailbox. Everything fits through the mailbox and is (almost always) delivered by bicycle. For the part that does not go by bike, e.g., the transport to and from the distribution centers, it is sent with sustainable mail from PostNL, which is guaranteed CO2-neutral. Our home delivery is therefore almost always more environmentally friendly than buying in the store.
